Test / preview mode. ComplyLandlord is not yet operating as a live service. While the site is in preview it is not in real-world use and no actual personal data from landlords is being recorded through it — the site runs nothing but anonymous, cookie-free analytics. The policy below describes how your data will be handled once the service goes live and real data collection is switched on.

This policy explains what personal data ComplyLandlord collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We are the “data controller” for this data under UK GDPR.

Who we are

ComplyLandlord (“we”, “us”) operates this website to help UK landlords check and stay on top of their compliance obligations. The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

What we collect and why

1. When you request a quote (lead form)

If you ask us to connect you with an engineer, we collect the details you give us: your name, your contact details (a phone number or email address), and — from the checker — your property type, the first part of your postcode, your certificate status, your estimated next renewal date, and any message you add.

• Why: to pass your enquiry to one or more Gas Safe registered engineers so they can contact you with a quote.
• Lawful basis: your consent — you submit the form specifically to be contacted. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.

2. When you set a renewal reminder

We collect your email address, the date your certificate was issued (used only to calculate when it is due), and a timestamped record of your consent.

• Why: to email you a reminder before your Gas Safety Certificate is due to expire.
• Lawful basis: your consent (PECR). Every reminder email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

3. Anonymous, cookie-free analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly tool that does not use cookies and does not collect or store any personal data or cross-site identifiers. It only gives us aggregated counts (for example, how many people completed the checker). Because no personal data is involved and no cookies are set, no consent banner is required.

Who we share your data with

• Gas Safe registered engineers — if you submit the quote form, we share that enquiry with one or more engineers so they can quote. We only share it for this purpose.
• Resend — our email delivery provider, used to send the lead notification and your reminder/confirmation emails.
• Our hosting provider — which stores the website and database on our behalf.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond those described above.

How long we keep it

• Quote enquiries: kept while we are handling your enquiry and for a short period afterwards, then deleted.
• Reminder sign-ups: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• object to or restrict how we use it; and
• withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
